York Tie 1
The York Minster Tile Tie Collection
We are proud to present The York Minster Tile Tie Collection — a bespoke range of ties inspired by the intricate floor tiles found within the Minster itself. This unique collection is a celebration of both history and style, created to bring the rich legacy of York into the fabric of everyday wear.
The intricate encaustic tiles at York Minster were originally created by Minton & Co. in the 19th century as part of a major restoration. With their vivid colours, religious symbolism, and geometric precision, they are a testament to centuries of design excellence. By translating these patterns into fabric, we honour the artistry and tradition that went into every original tile. Each tie in our collection features patterns and motifs directly inspired by the Chapter House floor. From ecclesiastical symbols like the cross keys of St Peter to intricate floral and geometric layouts, the designs carry deep meaning, echoing the sacred and historical significance of the space they come from.
100% Silk Tie 148cm x 8cm
The Silk fabric has been woven and the Tie has been manufactured in Yorkshire, England
